Hypnosis & How it Works

Hypnotherapy uses the natural hypnotic state, a focused state of awareness we all experience daily, to help you resolve specific problems. This focused state allows you to concentrate intensely on your issues, making it easier to find solutions.

 

Hypnotherapy is effective for managing chronic stress, anxiety, depression, and lack of motivation. It also helps with panic attacks, and phobias, and can ease the experience of medical procedures like a breast biopsy or dental visits. Additionally, it can enhance exam performance and sports achievements. Hypnotherapy is particularly useful for overcoming negative emotions and unwanted behaviors.

 

During a session, I guide you into a deeply relaxed, trance-like state. A very relaxed state, like a time when you woke up, but were not fully awake and not fully sleeping. It feels so good, especially when there is nothing to do, nowhere to go, no one needs anything and you can just relax completely. This state is also a heightened focus allowing you to respond better to positive suggestions tailored to your needs.

You know how sometimes you’re watching a movie or driving and suddenly realize you’ve totally zoned out but still know what you’re doing? That’s called a hypnoidal state—kind of like a light trance.

 

Hypnosis works on a spectrum, with deeper levels like light trance, medium trance, and even somnambulism, which is a super deep, highly suggestible state. Interesting, right? It’s all completely natural, and we go in and out of these states daily without even realizing it.

You may ask, “But if I’m in hypnosis, will I be out of it completely?” Not at all! You can hear everything, talk, even move around. If you need to cry, laugh, or even take a call or bathroom break, you can—and still stay in this wonderful, relaxed trance state. It’s like a tool your mind already knows how to use; we just guide it to help you make the changes you want. It's natural, fast and effective.

While hypnosis is a mental state, hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of this state.

 

As a Parts Therapy Facilitator and Resource Strategist, I guide you into this trance-like state to help you work through inner conflict, change beliefs that no longer serve you, and help you let go of "Stuff" you've been holding on to for a very long time, and finally achieving the changes you want.
